DEPLOY ROBOTS welcomes robotics startups, university research labs, independent developers, and established engineering teams with working humanoid robotic systems. We're looking for teams building robots capable of interacting with everyday objects, navigating real-world environments, and performing practical physical tasks. Whether your technology is designed for home assistance, industrial automation, or general-purpose robotics, DEPLOY offers an opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities in front of a wider audience.
Participating teams must have a functioning physical robot capable of object manipulation, safe operation, and transportation to the competition venue. Beyond technical performance, DEPLOY celebrates the people behind the machines, giving engineers and developers an opportunity to showcase their work, share their innovations, and compete alongside others advancing the field of robotics.
DEPLOY ROBOTS features head-to-head matchups where two teams compete simultaneously in identical environments. Challenges fall into three categories: UNPACK, ASSEMBLE, and CLEAN, testing skills such as object recognition, manipulation, navigation, dexterity, and problem-solving. Each challenge is timed, with robots earning points for successfully completed tasks. Teams compete under the same conditions, ensuring a fair and exciting competition where performance determines the winner.
Both autonomous operation and human-assisted teleoperation are permitted. Teams may take control of their robots when necessary, but time spent in teleoperation mode results in a scoring penalty, encouraging greater autonomy without preventing teams from completing difficult tasks. The competition rewards practical performance, efficiency, and adaptability while giving audiences an opportunity to witness the capabilities of emerging robotics technology.
